The World Health Organization has a vacancy for the position of:

SSA COVID 19 Vaccine Data Officer for VDI

(SSA, for an initial period of one year)

Purpose of the Post

To support NIP in rollout and starengthing of COVID-19 vaccine data management system, including data analysis and presentation for COVID-19 vaccine stakeholders.

Description of Duties:    

Under the overall supervision of WHO Lao PDR VDI focal person with guidance from the country office team and in collaboration with the National Immunization Programme of the Ministry of Health, the incumbent will:

• Ensure vaccination coverage and vaccine stock data is accurately captured and monitored by target population.
• Develop and update COVID-19 performance monitoring dashboard.
• Support on the use of COVID-19 coverage and vaccine supply data for planning and decision-making.
• Ensure all the recording and reporting tools finalized, printed and distributed to HFs.
• Support national and provinces in testing and rolling out OF any changes to COVID-19 electronics data management system.
• Support preparation and revision of training materials and SOP.
• Provide training and technical support to all level on recording and reporting.
• Support preparation/revision of national micro plan for COVID-19 vaccine.
• Assist with any other COVID-19 vaccine data management related activities as requested by NIP

Output 1: Quality Vaccination coverage and stock data is availabel on time for

Output 2: Staff providing COVID-19 vaccine are trained on COVID vaccine data managment

Output 3: COVID-19 vaccine data management system is in place in COVID-19 vaccine providing sites

Output 4: useNational micro plan for COVID-19 vaccine is available

Output 5: Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination monitoring dashboard.

Education:

University Bachelor’s degree in computer scice or related field or its equivalent professional training. A background in public health will be preferred.

Knowledge & skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of data management and processes (data quality, analysis and use techniques);
• Ability to work independently under pressure without close supervision and to deliver high-quality work on-time;
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team including effectively working with policy-makers and partners;
• Good oral and written communication skills;
• Good computer skills.

Experience:

• Essential:  Minimum 2 years of experience in area of program data management or its related field
• Desirable: Experience with international organizations, an advantage

Language: 

Fluent in Lao and high degree of competency in reading, written and spoken English.
