Social Protection Training of Trainers Toolkit for Lao PDR
As part of the UN Joint Programme “Leaving no one behind: Establishing the basis for social protection floors in Lao PDR”, ILO and UNICEF organized a series of training workshops on social protection policy design and implementation for government authorities across the country and members of the National and Provincial Assemblies.
This helped to ensure that national partners responsible for the National Social Protection Strategy understand concepts related to social protection, its importance, impact, the necessity to invest budgetary resources in social protection, and the main areas of work in implementing social protection programmes.
In taking these commitments forward, the UN Joint Programme developed the Social Protection Training of Trainers Toolkit to equip future trainers to conduct trainings for national and local stakeholders on social protection design and implementation. The Toolkit is designed for government officials, especially from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Lao Social Security Organization, and National Health Insurance Bureau; as well as for academia; civil society organizations; and development partners for their training and advocacy activities.
