National Weather Forecasts and Early Warning System Perception Survey Report, Lao PDR
17 June 2025
The National Weather Forecasts and Early Warning System Perception Survey Report for Lao PDR (2025) is the first comprehensive assessment of how diverse communities engage with weather forecasts and early warnings. Conducted under the leadership of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology and supported by UNDRR, WMO, WFP, and ADPC, the survey reached over 1,700 households across nine provinces. It highlights significant communication gaps, particularly among persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and remote communities. The findings offer actionable insights to strengthen inclusive early warning systems in line with the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) Roadmap 2024–2027.
