STC to support the National Immunisation Programme, Mother and Health Centre, Ministry of Health (MoH) of Lao PDR in the training of COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization at all levels

(for the period of 6 months)

Purpose of the Post:

This consultancy will support the National Immunisation Programme, Mother and Health Centre, Ministry of Health (MoH) of Lao PDR in the training of COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization at all levels.

Description of Duties:

Under the supervision of the Vaccine-Preventable Disease & Immunization (VDI) Team Lead and the management of the WHO Representative, the consultant will be responsible for delivering the following:

Output 1: COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization training preparation - Assist the National Immunization Programme on the preparation of COVID-19 vaccination and Routine immunization training

• Deliverable 1.1: Support NIP on drafting and finalizing workplan for the training.
• Deliverable 1.2:  Support NIP on budgeting for the training and ensuring funds to the provincial, district and Heath centre level are available on time.
• Deliverable 1.3: Under the supervision of WHO technical staff, develop training materials, pre-/post-training tests, and relevant information/education/communication materials  
• Deliverable 1.4: Coordinate between other development partners regarding training-related activities.

Output 2: Rollout of COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization training

• Deliverable 2.1 – Support NIP on the rollout of COVID-19 training at all levels.   

Output 3: COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization training monitoring and evaluation

• Deliverable 3.1 – Together with NIP, monitor progress and implementation of the training at all levels.
• Deliverable 3.2 – Draft technical report on COVID-19 vaccination and routine immunization training. 

Output 4: framework and stakeholder mapping for MCH/NIP training center

• Deliverable 4.1 – support MCH/NIP on planning of MCH/NIP training center project by developing framework and stakeholder mapping for the training center

Knowledge & Skills:       

Knowledge and skills on training and training curriculum development.

Education:

University degree education, communication, public health or related field. An advanced degree is desirable.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 year of working experience in education, communication, public health or related field. The experience of working within the UN system or with UN partners is desirable.  

Languages: 

Written and spoken fluency in Lao and English are essential. Written and spoken fluency in another UN or Lao language is desirable
