(Special Service Agreement) (2 positions)
Purpose of the Post:
This Special Service Agreement (SSA) aims to provide support in the areas of infection control and prevention (IPC) to the relevant Ministry of Health (MOH) departments and hospitals.
Description of Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the WHO HSD Unit the staff will undertake the following tasks:
Output
Output 1: Coordination with MoH and the team for the development of IPC assessment/training materials
Deliverable 1.1: IPC assessment guide and tool
Output 2: Support for the implementation of IPC training at the central and sub-national levels
Deliverable 2.1: Concept note of the IPC training
Deliverable 2.2: Training reports for IPC training
Output 3: Coordination and report-writing
Deliverable 3.1: Meeting notes for meetings with the MoH
Output 4: Support for the translation related to IPC work between English and Lao
Deliverable: Translated documents
Output 5: Support for request related to IPC and relevant areas by the HSD team
Deliverable: Report on activities
Knowledge & skills:
- Ability to learn new topics in a proactive manner.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and to deliver high-quality work on-time.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge in standard MS Office applications including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
Education:
Essential: Bachelor's degree in any area that may help implementation of the IPC activities
Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field such as Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy or Physiotherapy.
Experience:
Essential: At least one year of work experience in a health related field or any other area that may help implementation of the IPC activities.
Desirable: Experience in working with government, non-government and/or with regional or international organizations.
Languages:
- Good knowledge of English in speaking, reading and writing
- Expert knowledge of Lao in speaking, reading and writing.
Other skills (e.g. IT): Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
