COVID-19 field photographer and trainer

Purpose of the Post:
World Health Organization (WHO) is supporting the Ministry of Health (MoH) on COVID-19 response. The priorities of the support focus on ensuring that COVID-19 cases continue to be detected rapidly by strengthening points of entry, emergency operation centres (EOC) at the central and provincial level, preparing for the surge at quarantine and health facilities, increasing capacity for infection, prevention and control (IPC), water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), waste management and COVID-19 vaccination.
This consultancy will provide support on COVID-19 photography/videography as requested under the WHO Representative’s Office.
Description of Duties:
Under the supervision of senior communication consultant and the management of the WHO Representative, the company or consultant will be responsible for delivering the following:
Output 1: Field photography/videography
- Deliverable 1.1: Ten days for field photography, including post-production.
- Deliverable 1.2: About 100 - 150 photos covering COVID-19 response such as EOC, hospitals, clinical management, quarantine and health facilities, point of entry, IPC, WASH, waste management and vaccination.
Output 2: Support Ministry of Health on photography and videography training
- Deliverable 2.1 – Conduct 15 days of training for Centre of Communication and Education for Health (CCEH) staff on filmmaking (pre-production, production and post-production processes), photographic composition techniques and other topics as requested by the Director of CCEH.
- Deliverable 2.2 – Field coaching for CCEH staff on photography/videography when on assignment to document the response.
Qualifications
First university degree in creative arts, media, film, photography or photo media
Experience
A minimum of three years of experience in professional photography. The consultant should have experience working within the UN system or with UN partners. Experience in conducting photography related trainings is also needed. Direct experience with WHO is preferred.
Skills and knowledge
Knowledge and skills in photography
Language
Written and spoken fluency in English is essential. Written and spoken fluency in Lao language is desirable
Other
Selected candidate must have own equipment and shall share details when applying. List of relevant projects done so far and relevant coaching/training experience shall also be shared. In the case the company is applying, brief project proposal with budget estimation and CV of proposed candidate(s) are to be provided.

The consultant is expected to travel to Vientiane, Lao PDR, for the duration of the contract.
- Medical clearance
The selected Consultant will be expected to provide a medical certificate of fitness for work.
