The World Health Organization has a vacancy for the position of:
Special Service Agreement (SSA) to provide technical support in the areas of infection control and prevention (IPC) (02 positions)
(Special Service Agreement, for an initial period of 3.5 months)
Purpose of the Post:
This Special Service Agreement (SSA) aims to provide technical support in the areas of infection control and prevention (IPC) to the relevant Ministry of Health (MoH) departments and hospitals.
Description of Duties:
He/she will work under overall guidance from the Coordinator for Health Systems to provide support to the relevant Ministry of Health (MoH) departments and hospitals.
Output 1: Technical support for the development of IPC materials
Deliverable 1.1: Translation of IPC documents for WHO technical review and inputs/revision (e.g. IPC strategy, guidelines, standards, assessment tool and training programmes)
Output 2: Technical support for the implementation of IPC training
Deliverable 2.1: Training materials for IPC developed for the Lao context
Deliverable 2.2: Training reports for IPC training at the central and sub-national levels
Deliverable 2.3: M&E reports for follow-up visits
Output 3: Coordination and report-writing
Deliverable 3.1: Meeting minutes for IPC coordination meetings with the MoH.
Deliverable 3.2: Meeting minutes for IPC technical meetings with selected hospitals.
Education:
Essential: Diploma in medicine or health-related field
Desirable: Higher diploma in medicine or health-related field
Knowledge & skills:
- Knowledge about infection prevention and control
- Ability to work independently under pressure and to deliver high-quality work on-time.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge in standard MS Office applications including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
Experience:
Essential: At least two years of work experience in healthcare services, public health or infectious diseases within a hospital setting.
Desirable: Experience in working with government, non-government and/or with regional or international organizations.
Language:
- Good knowledge of English in speaking, reading and writing
- Expert knowledge of Lao in speaking, reading and writing.
