WHOOff-Site Short Term Consultant
To provide technical support and capacity development to Mother and Child Health Centre (MCHC), Lao Tropical & Public Health Institute (TPHI), Ministry of Home Affairs and other potential stakeholders in developing and delivering participatory workshops to engage community in increasing uptake
(From 01 May 2021 to 30 April 2022 (160 working days))
Objectives of the programme:
- To provide technical support and capacity development to Mother and Child Health Centre (MCHC), Lao Tropical & Public Health Institute (TPHI), Ministry of Home Affairs and other potential stakeholders in developing and delivering participatory workshops to engage community in increasing uptake of essential RMNCAH services (family planning, antenatal care, SBA delivery and immunization) and in other potential roles of community in primary health care.
- To provide policy recommendations derived from the workshop on wider scale up of the approach in community engagement for primary health care.
Description of the duties:
- Conducting meetings and workshops
- Tool design, development and field-test
- Training
- Field trip for workshops
- Writing report and policy brief
Knowledge and Skills:
- Community engagement intervention designing
- Toolkit development
- Training skills
- Report writing
- Knowledge of the Lao health system and profound knowledge of Community health
Education:
· Essential Qualifications:
- First level university degree in medicine or public health
- Master’s Degree in public health or social science
Experience:
· Essential:
- Minimum of 7 years of working experience in Community health, in Lao PDR
Language:
- Fluency in English and Lao is required.
